Survey on Need for Awareness and Education on Infection for Local Dental Workers in Specific Regions

Abstract
This study investigated the needs of an infection control education program in dental health professional. The research was conducted by telephone survey from 1st to 30th June 2015, total number of 178 dental clinics in Gyeong-Gi province.1. 93.2% of unmarried respondents and 76.7% of married respondents were replied the positive answer over the needs of an infection control education program. 2. Most participants agreed the needs of an infection control education program regardless of work experience. 3. 95.8% of dental hygienist and 52.9% of nursing assistants have recognized the needs of an infection control education program. 4. Participants who received an infection control education program, 70.3% of the respondents did laundry their work clothes at work place. Participants who did not receive an infection control education program, 66.2% of the respondents did laundry their work clothes at home or in other places. 5. Whether or not being educated an infection control education program, 84.1% of participants did not know the antimicrobial fabric work clothes. 6. 33.1% of participants who agreed an infection control education program chose to participate in a continuous education program and training. Participants who did not agree to have an infection control education program choose to participate in a training program within their workplace. Therefore, we need to establish well organized education program in odor to break the chain of disease transmission.
